This is my story about Special Delivery...

The bonds that are created on the battlefield are special. It all started with a bunch of friends and friends of friends playing pick up hockey at the Greek gym. Nobody knew each other that well and we participated in some fisty cuffs and mini brawls. But in this case the blood that was shed led to blood brothers. After about a year of playing, the most committed players entered a team, Special Delivery, into a league based out of St-Rose. This was very far from the city and the only highlight of the area was an amazing strip club that was frequented before and after games by members of the team. Unfortunately the strip club is now a parking lot...but life goes on. After our first season in St-Rose, which coincided with Tampa winning the Super Bowl, our hunger for hockey grew. We were referred to the league Allstar, which was an outdoor league during the summer. SD registered to play and SD went through a season of growing pains. It was a rough start but we kept our heads high and we learned to play together. The next season, we trimmed our roster and added some muscle. It was during this season that SD went from childhood to adulthood. We barely made the playoffs and it was during the big dance that the teams chemistry was forged. We blew away all of the favored opponents and met the Dirty Dawgs in the finals. It was a hard fought battle...but we lost the series in 2. They were more experienced, hungrier, and stronger. The next season we played indoors and picked up right where we left off. We finished the season 15-5 and came 13 seconds away from taking home the first SD ball championship. I can't get into it right now...because it still hurts. The seasons since then have been tough to swallow. Always great during the season but we'd hit a wall in the playoffs. But it's okay because SD has evolved and grown every year. SD ball was the original franchise but since then it has won a championship in Ice hockey and solidified two minor league teams for ice and ball.

SD has become more than just a team. It has become a network of friends playing ball hockey and ice hockey. Over 100 people have worn the SD colors whether it be ice or ball. We have lost important members since the birth of the franchise but there is always new blood coming in from the minors. Once you play a season with SD you are SD.
Presently, the team is alive and well...bigger and better then ever.
