The Brave Warriors came into last nights contest confident, having won the season series by a combined 5-0. But that means shit because SD is built for the playoffs and for the first time in 2 months, SD was rolling two lines.
It was a battle to the very end. SD was down by 1 goal for most part of the game, but Peter was able to even the score twice... as he continued his stellar play in both the offensive and defensive zones.
OT had both teams see their fair share of scoring chances. The goalies were playing the best hockey of their lives. The only difference was that SD had their Russian Bear in nets, and he was hungry! Lex bleeds SD and he truly showed up to deliver one of the best performances of his life.
Double Over Time... it's the place where heroes are born. With fewer then 3 minutes remaining in the extra period, #88 was running routes trying to get open. He curled behind the net to receive a beauty pass from #96. While curling and turning on a dime at top speed, Angelo stuffed the ball with all his force through the opposing goalie and into the net. As he raised his hands over his head and embraced the hugs of his teammates, a hero was born.
It was a great team effort and a satisfying win, but now it's time to focus on the next challenge at hand. Best of Three Semi-Finals in 6 days, who wants to be a hero?
